Artists

If you are reading this you are likely a creative, imaginative and thoughtful person. The work of therapy is not to dull or fix your sensitivities – a fear many artists have of therapy. Ideally the process will help you discover how to best utilize your talents to create a life that keeps you inspired and engaged. Through the therapeutic process you will increase your capacity to tolerate the fullest range of moods and feelings. This can yield great improvement in your creative thinking and in your ability to follow through and manifest your ideas.

Therapy can help you discover how to move through periods of creative freeze, insecurity and procrastination. Additionally, by establishing new patterns you will be able to reduce periods of anxiety and uncertainty. In turn you will begin to have more time to spend on what is pleasurable and engaging in your creative work.

Therapy will not strip you of what makes you creative. However, it can give you insights about yourself and your process that allow you to work more effectively and therefore continue creating even when facing deadlines, beginning new projects or experiencing self doubt.
